Called to New Ideas and New Ways

Luke 11:29-54:

The times were catching up. Jesus brought new insights, but the leaders were too concerned with keeping their old ways. We’re called to follow Jesus even into new ideas, different ways to talk about Him: using the Internet, for example.

If we begin by answering Jesus’ call for us, He can change the darkness within us—selfishness, contempt for others, etc.—into concern for others as we have concern for ourselves. It isn’t as though we stop having concern for ourselves, but we admit others to our level of concern. We have concern for all of us, not just us and our immediate doings. We take on Jesus’ world view. It changes everything, eventually, even the world, as it has been doing for 2,000 years.
